2023 was such a great year for Supported Serenity Doula Care

It isn’t without the amazing supporters, clients, and students that make this year something to be proud of.

A goal for me this year was to support at least one birth center client each month and I was so lucky to have amazing clients choose me to be with them during this very intimate time and space and I surpassed that goal incredibly.

I was astounded to look back and see how many clients were seeking midwife-led care during their prenatal experiences.

Major Highlights from 2023 include:

49 Births Attended: 21 Boys and 28 Girls

38 Clients had midwife-led prenatal care: 2 with homebirth midwives, 24 with birth center midwives, and 12 with hospital midwives,

27 placentas encapsulated: 12 for non-birth clients, and 15 for birth clients

17 Spinning Babies Birth Preparation Classes were taught: 47 couples took group classes and 3 had private classes

100% VBAC Success Rate for clients who had a trial of labor after cesarean

6 clients had c-sections, 3 were planned prior to going into labor and 3 occurred during labor

9 clients changed providers after hiring me, knowing their birth views did not align with their providers. For most, it meant driving further to seek prenatal care, but ultimately having a more supportive birth experience. One thing I have spent time doing is really getting to know providers and having clients know and trust that I want them to receive the best outcomes in their care and trusting in my recommendations is HUGE!

I am so excited for 2024, I’ll be teaching Spinning Babies Classes at a new 3rd location at the GentleBirth Care office in Wheaton in addition to the Hoffman Estates location at Balanced Care Chiropractic and Chicago Location at Birth Center of Chicago

I will begin incorporating concepts from Body Ready Method into my practice. In addition to teaching two new classes coming in Spring 2024.

I hope to be teaching comprehensive childbirth classes by the end of 2024.

The learning doesn’t stop for me, I continuously am finding ways to bring more to my clients to help them have better brith outcomes and avoid trauma in labor.

I CANNOT WAIT to experience all that 2024 has in store 🎆
