Northpointe Birth Center
Hey friends! I am so incredibly excited to have visited a BRAND NEW FREESTANDING BIRTH CENTER coming soon to IL!
Northpointe Birth Center is located in Roscoe, IL just north of Rockford and easily accessible off of I-90!
As you enter the campus where the birth center is located you are surrounded by beautiful trees, a scenic pond with a walking path, and as you approach the center there is a gorgeous patio to sit on and be in nature. Such a serene environment to be in your pregnancy.
The environment in the birth center is so warm, with a full kitchen for clients and their family/friends to utilize as desired before, during, or after the birth. Eating in labor to help continue the path of labor is highly encouraged here.
As you look past the kitchen there is a gorgeous fireplace that is surrounded with seating areas for those in your family in addition to some televisions.
There is a nice classroom that clients will utilize to take childbirth classes and comfort & coping measures classes in the birth center.
The labor rooms are stunning, each with a very large, spacious shower and bathroom area, including a rainfall shower head. They have named the three rooms the Glam, Modern, and Boho rooms based on the phenomenal decor in each suite.
Glam has the sparkle and glitz in just the subtle touches throughout the room.
Modern is has neutral shades and sweet touches of green that remind you of the natural beauty that is birth
Boho has amazing yellow hues throughout the room, making it bright and cozy making it hard not to smile when you walk into the space.
In each birth suite clients are encouraged to labor in various positions utilizing tools such as a TENS unit, wall ladder to help open the pelvis in different positions, the hanging scarf from the ceiling to help you feel supported as you hang or drape your body within it during labor. And of course the incredible birth tubs that are available for clients to utilize in labor. Water birth will be a very regular experience here at Northpointe.
One of my favorite aspects of a birth center birth, is the freedom to labor and birth wherever you want in the room. There isn’t any part of “now its time to get in the bed to push,” if you’re on the toilet and feel the urge to push, great; if you are in the tub, let’s do it, if you are on hands and knees in bed, awesome let’s bring this baby into the world. The midwifery model of care is so incredible and we can expect to see that at Northpointe. Check out my Instagram Post to see more video coverage of the inside of each suite!
In addition to the amazing facilities, the midwives were amazing and the staff was wonderful. The birth center has two incredibly talented midwives that are so excited for when they get to finally support clients in this space. They were incredibly welcoming to birth doulas, and I can’t wait to support clients here.
The birth center was created under love passion and care for folks to receive outstanding midwifery care in a non-hospital setting. Most surprisingly to me was that it was the idea of the Beloit Health System to integrate the birth center. The bonus to this beautiful birth center being under a health system is that there are a lot of different insurances that will be covered under their care. This is HUGE!
